Duties: As a member of the EOA, individuals will speak at quarterly meetings and express their opinions and make recommendations about Exploring events and policies.

Officials: In order to have a functional organization, the EOA has four official positions: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Program Chairman, descriptions below.

President: The President is the leader of the EOA. Main responsibilities include conducting meetings; ensuring that fellow officials are successful in their duties, setting meeting dates and preparing agendas for those meetings, holding annual elections, assigning tasks to EOA members, and developing additional positions within the organization where needed.

Vice President: The vice president’s main responsibility is to assist the President. The VP shall be prepared to conduct meetings should the President not be available. Other responsibilities include ensuring that all timelines that are set are met, reporting progress to the President, and working to recruit more Explorers into the EOA.

Secretary: The Secretary plays a major role in the organization of the EOA. Responsibilities include preparing meeting minutes, taking attendance at meetings, keeping an up-to-date roster of all EOA members, preparing letters for the organization as needed, and being prepared to make calls as needed by the President.

Program Chairperson: The Program Chairman is responsible for planning events on behalf of the EOA. Events: The EOA will plan or assist in planning for events throughout the year. These events will be designed to bring posts together in a non-competitive environment. It is the responsibility of the EOA officers to plan the events. Once the event is finalized the Program Chairperson will create a proposal to the EOA advisors as well as the Executive Council.

Admission to the EOA: The EOA is designed to have one representative from every Explorer Post in the State of New Hampshire. The EOA is designed to have representation by Post Officers, but in cases where an officer is not available that Explorer must be a post member for a minimum of two years and must be accompanied with a letter from their advisor appointing them to the position.

Elections: To become a ranking official in the EOA, one must show commitment to the organization. Members must be in good standing and have been members for at least six months. Elections will be held annually and those Explorers looking to be elected into office will have to deliver a speech to the EOA as well as submitting a letter to EOA Advisors outlining the reasons for their candidacy. A vote will then be conducted and in the event of a tie the members will vote on the two candidates who have tied.
